1. Upon further inspection of the light tables developed under
the subject contract, certain deficiencies were discovered with
regard to the microscope adapters.
2. Specifically, the adapter for the Zoom 70 for light
table #2 could not be collimated. had not collimated it
to the degree NPIC requires (10 minutes of arc) nor had they allowed
for the adjustment. Since it was undesirable to send the light
tables back to the contractor and the undersigned
modified the adapter by disassembling it and enlarging the mounting
holes between the mounting block and the microscope ring. This
effort required about five man hours.
3. The adamte for light table #3 had been assembled
incorrectly by in that the focusing mechanism gear had
been assembled backwards and serious damage to both the gear and its
rack had occurred. This item is being returned to for re-work.
