1.) It would be desirable to use the "on line printer" output
to correct the mag. tape. To what extent is this possible and
if it is, can the printer output be made machine readable?
Is it possible KX or desirable to tag the data on the mag. tape?
2.) Because of the need of special spools we will have to rewind
each roll once or in some cases twich. The consensus of opinions
I? (2) is that we need six spec&&l spools for each anticipated size
and some kind of rewinding mechanism so that machine time is not
3,) Different parts of the proposal specify that:
Film be loaded emulsion away from glass shoe.
Film be loaded data block nearer bottom edge.
Presumably film will be/in a fixed angular sense.
spooled
Are all these independent requirements mutually compatab&e?
/F.) what is involved in changing the read head? -:
5.) The incremental encoder should be properly protected from the
operator. If it is on a moving arm I suggest velocity damping
be used.
6.) The read head should have sufficient lateral adjustment so
that misregistration due to printing can be accommodated.
7.) TID will need to coordinate with IPD to determine what
kind of computer support is necessary.
