Approved For elease 2002/11/15 : CIA-RDP78BO474 001800120018-1 October 24, 1963 Digital Readout comparator Delivery of the two digital readout systems was scheduled for October 15. Delivery has been delay. ed and they are now scheduled for 1 on Nov? 15 and 1 on. Dec, 6. I suspect the delay will not affect appreciablyi the work on the equipment into which the digital readouts will be incorporated. The delay results from two aspects 1. The assembly and checkout is taking a lot longer than they thought, partly due to a turnover in projects engineers. STATINTL 2. They discovered an incompatibility of the II STAT OInput to their system requirements. This o0 some time to resolve and it was uncertain whether or not their circuits would change. However it STAT was decided that II would provide a preamp between STAT the reading head and the Digital Readout. One Panel assembly, one synchronizer and one counter are complete. The second counter is being wired and will be complete this week. Then checkout of the first system can begin. There is some questions regarding methtds of record.. STATINTL ing digit output sequence Ser to demonstrate the A it b l e STATINTL STAT o oan sequence could then be shipped with the equipment, It is not certain that the Readout digit output rate STATINTL readout equipment is working properly. Uou feasible to send them a dataphone and typewriter on r recording the output? The typed output f is compatible with the Dataphone-typewriter set.
