SUBJECT: Multiple Image Correlator Contract
1. Negotiations for a "Feasibility Demonstration of the
Multiple Image Correlator (Mark I)" have not been completed as of this
date and it is evident that the proposal will not be resubmitted by the
contention that personnel are not
available for this demonstration due to the urgency of work now being
carried out for Air Force contracts.

addition, since there is no research and development connected with
this effort, Logistics has requested a fixed-price contract instead
of the cost-plus-fixed-fee contract as submitted originally. Requests
for an up-dated proposal have been made on a continuing basis since
19 November 1963, the Staff Study was completed on 7 October 1963.
3. To date, it is evident that = has no interest in presenting
a feasibility demonstration of the instrument. Approximately 5X1A
has been expended on this concept, with associated equipment, and no
support seems to be forthcoming from unless they are assured that
a continued program will be pursued.. -This continuation is not
considered possible until further study of the instrument is undertaken.
4. A meeting has been arranged with Messrs 5X1A
for 21 February 1964 to discuss the status of
the proposal or the possibility of packaging and delivery of the
instrument to NPIC.
