SUBJECT: recision Enlarger Prototype (BPE) Operational
Improvements and Maintenance
TASK/PROBLEM
1. Provide photographic enlarger maintenance at the customer's
facility for one Precision Enlarger (BPE) and three 10-20-40X
Enlargers.*
DISCUSSION
2. Contractor personnel visited the customer's facility twice
during the report period and while there performed the following
maintenance effort on the BPE:
a. On 26 and 27 June 1968:
(1) Misalignment in the transport system film tracking
was corrected.
(2) The X- and Y-coordinate counter system was retrofitted.
(3) The X-coordinate counter was found to be out of alignment
and was corrected.
(4) Some of the lights that indicate plus and minus on the Y-
counter system were defective and were replaced.
(5) Brushes that are activated during the drying cycle to
remove excess fluid from the bottom side of the film were aligned.

to reflect the contractor's understanding, and the customer's concurrence,
of the work statement (per contractor's message 0559 dated 8 August 1968

b. In the period from 6 through 9 August 1968:
(1) The fluorescent bulb in the viewer box was replaced.
(2) The easel platen was removed and the front and back
(3) The lamphouse drive assembly was readjusted.
