Monthly Progress Report
Attached hereto, in accordance with the subject Contract, is one
reproducible and two copies of the eighteenth monthly progress report.
Your attention is invited to the Section 2. Schedule, of the enclosed
report indicating shipment on May 1. 1965, which assumes a 'success'
program from date of receipt of the Driver and Coupler parts from our
Vendor. As soon as these parts can be checked out after their receipt
and a firm delivery schedule established, an extension of the contract
completion date will be requested.

The following items were accomplished during this report period:
1.1 The fabricrtion of the driver and coupler parts has been corn-

to fabrication of these latest parts, the vacuum deposition chamber
was thoroughly cleaned inside and outside and a successful dry run
was made.

1. STLIIAllY
The folloqing items were accomplished during this report period:
1.1 fabricate6 another driver master print for this
program and the metrology has been completed. The data will be reduced
during the next report neriod. This wont is an attempt to reduce the
t_easured errors obserre.1 in the preceeding prints - and does not pace
tae fabrication of tae driver part which is presently in process.
(See Fifteenth Nonthly Progress Report, dated 26 October 1964)
1.2 The first coupler part was delivered during this period and
metroloay indicated that the vendor had fabricated the part with an
incorrect cornier bar width. Tae unit was imrlediately returned to him
-rith the report. It was determined that the part was fabricated from
an earlier -print revision and that the vendor had not used the latest
prints supplied to him. A second coupler part was incorrectly fabri-
cated due to an incorrect ruling engine set up. Another coupler is
being fabricated. The vendor has conducted tests with emulsions and
will select the most suitable type for fabrication of the driver part.
2. SCero3CL:
Continued slippage by in fabrication of the coupler
and driver parts mases the customer demonstration date of 18 January
doubtful. Every effort is "eeing expenoed to expedite a timely comple-
tion of fabrication of these nartr!. k new demonstration date will be
set, based upon a success schedule, when delivery and inspection of the
parts is completed.
