Approved For Release 2005/06/06 : CIA-RDP78B04770A0000050043-5 APPENDIX A INSTALLATION OF ADAPTER BAR AT WIND-UP END OF A VERSAMAT PROCESSOR L L L L L L L L L An adapter bar kit is furnished with each portable take-up unit. The kit contains addi- tional parts (screws, washers, etc.) necessary for installing the adapter bar, shown in Figure Al, on the wind-up end of any VERSAMAT processor model. Since the physical structure of the wind-up end of the Model 11C VERSAMAT isn't the same as that of earlier models (e.g., the 11, and 11A VERSAMAT), two different procedures are listed below to cover bar installation on all VERSAMAT processors. To install the adapter bar on the Model 11C VERSAMAT, follow the procedure listed below. .a. On the processor base, make four reference marks at the exact positions shown in Figure A2. .b. At each of these four reference marks, drill a .343 ?.001 diameter hole through the base. c. Jack the wind-up end of the processor about 8 inches off the floor to provide sufficient working room for carrying out step d. below. d. Use the screws, washers, and the two screw retention (nut) plates* provided in the adapter bar kit to attach the Z-brackets of the adapter bar to the processor base. Figure A2 contains a diagram showing the bar correctly installed on the processor. These plates are used instead of nuts so that if the bar must be raised or lowered after installation, the screws can be loosened and retightened easily without jacking up the processor again. A.3 INSTALLING ADAPTER BAR ON ANY VERSAMAT RELEASED BEFORE THE MODEL 11C To install the adapter bar on any earlier VERSAMAT processor models (e.g., the 11, or 12A VERSAMAT), the steps below should be followed: a. Remove dryer access end panel from wind-up end of processor. b. At the wind-up end of the processor, mark four reference points at the exact positions shown in Figure A3. c. Drill and tap 5/16-18UNc-2B threaded holes at these four reference points. d. Remove the exhaust duct from the end of the processor, cover the hole with the sheet metal disk included in the adapter bar kit, and finally install the exhaust duct on the side of the processor. In following step d., refer to Figure A3 and A4 which show installation diagrams and exact dimensional details. e. Use the screws and washers provided in the adapter bar kit to attach the bar to the wind-up end of the processor. (The two screw retention (nut) plates included in the kit are used only when attaching the bar to the Model 11C.) .f. Replace the dryer access end panel on the processor. If the two hexhead screws which secure the left Z-bracket to the processor obstruct the dryer access end panel from being replaced, make an appropriate cutout in the panel to allow for screw clearance. l Approved For Release 2005/06/06 : CIA-RDP78B04770A002400050043-5 Approved For Release 2005/06/06 : CIA-RDP78BO477OA002400050043-5 j-incn aiameler nose ui i.ue eiuu ui uua yi~~cec~a position.
