The aclenoil valv.w5, as spe ?'ied on the specifications, were
questioned due to the exorbitant prices that they had discovered.
After considerable discussion on this subject, a valve was finally
selected which will fulfill all of the requirements. This is a
valve manufactured by C.hemtrol and is an air, water, or oil
actuated valve with a small solenoid pilot valve. The cost of
the valve is in the order of $65. They are proceeding on this
basis.

B. In addition to discussing the valves, the question of the storage
cabinet came up. Our intention of this cabinet, and their inter-
pretation of the cabinet, apparently were a little different. The
intention was that the cabinet would be manufactured and fabri-
cated in sections 5 feet long and would be assembled on site to
make a complete unit 10 feet long. They had proceeded to begin
fabrication of a single unit 10 feet long with material of the same
length. There was no break in the length. This resulted in a

course, would not go into the building. They are revising the
drawings and will have to remake a few of the pasta for these
cabinets. They are obtainir ; an estimate forr t .e cost of these
changes s at the present time. There was no indication or dis-
cussion, as to how these charges would apply to the contract--
whether they w'uld absorb the costs or not, was not brought up.
C. In light of this storage cabinet, they produced one more drawing
which gave the basic layoet of the graphic panel on the control
console. Again, bemuse sf a misinterprotation of thaw specifi-
cations, they were including an additional switch for each sole-
noid valve. This is now being, r sviecd.. Fortunately, this was
still in a d.ravi5.n; stage an not being fabricated.
D. They reeiueeted a water analysis of the 'Washington ar,_"a for a
double check of whether certain corrosion and flaking will occur
in the water pipe systems. If corrosion or flaking could occur,

Since there has been no coordination up to this point, it is very
possible that the sane type of situations =ay be occurring in
the rest of the system where an erroneous interpretation may
have occurred. This is the reason for the urgency on the request
for clarification of the technical representative.

M. During my last visit with you it .,as brought out by Jack D. that there
wac a large question mark as to the future work that may be required
because of the telepromptor system in the briefing rooms. This has
been checked out and the teleprompter system will only use material
from the photo lab on a limited basis and normally these are materials
of movies or standard slides--nothing of any unusual shape or form
have to be contended with. This material vrill not be used at the
lectern but it will be used in standard projectors.

.If there is a large dea and for the 35mm, 70m=, or lantern slide

uring this same visit the guesticn arose as to what fors. and amount
caf models were to be made by the facility and photographed by the
lab. This arose in conjunction with the use of the photo studio.
I have not obtained a definite answer as to the +sstiMate of quantity.
The on ;anal building concept included a complete model shop in the
Publications area. The model ehpp deeai. ated as such no longer
gists. It is their intention to use part of the layout area to build
their models. Apparently, there is an intention to increase the quantity
of yodels over what is presently being i::,ade. Granted, this does not
dive you the answer you requested.e will try to work up a more
definite answer very soon for you.
