SUBJECT: Optimization of Lasers
TASK/PROBLEM
1. Explore the production of 0.53 micron (blue-green) laser radiation
by harmonic doubling in KDP and ADP crystals.
DISCUSSION
2. To provide information for a possible comparison of the harmonic
doubling system with other visible light laser systems, reading is in. progress
both on a NASA bibliography and on material selected by the contractor's
technical information service. There are reports of several CW visible light
units in the 20 - 30 milliwatt output range and one unit whose output is
measured in watts.
3. No work has been done on the beam structure study during this month.
