1. The referenced memoranda verified earlier discussions regarding the
need for our PIs to have rapid access to "working" photo print enlargements.
Subsequently, through liaison with personnel from your Staff, we have closely
followed state-of-the-art advances in the photo-copy field, and although re-
finements in the "dry copy" processes under development by thel 25X1
are most encouraging, the availability of reversal print materials of this
type appears to be some distance in the future.
2. Recently, through of your Staff, we learned of 25X1
experiments with the i fusion transfer reversal (DTR) process. 26X1
Although similar to other D sys ems, the 0 process has sensitometric 25X1
characteristics capable of reproducing continuous tone images with high
quality.
3. Following consultations withi and personnel from the 25X1
Operations Support Staff, IAD, I Isubmitted an unsolicited proposal 0 25X1
Technical Proposal 66-3557-1) to your Staff for the devt of a "Photo-
interpretation Rapid Copy Viewer/Printer" utilizing then IDTR process. 25X1
4. At this time we wish merely to emphasize our strong interest in the
=proposal and encourage its prompt approval by the P&DS Project Evaluation 25X1
Committee.
