MEMORANDUM FOR: Assistant for Plans and Development
1. This memorandum concerns CSD comments regarding the application
of closed circuit television at the Center.

2. It appears that there are two separate requirements - one being
a Center-wide system; the other being a portable tape recording package
something similar to the =:=package for use in briefings, presenta-
tions and special studies. Both requirements have a great degree of merit
and should be considered together as a complete and intergrated system
utilizing equipment that would be compatible throughout.
3. There has been criticism of the Director's briefing in that per-
tinent details on the photogra

are not seen by the viewing audience. Collateral materials shown to him
are also not discernible to the audience. Photo details and collateral
material could be picked up by the TV camera and shown on a monitor for both
the Director and the audience to see.
4+. The Division would be interested in the Center-wide TV system in
the future for information to various requesting stations throughout the
building.
5. The Video-audio recording equipment appears to have many appli-
cable uses for Center personnel. Some of the more promising seem to be:
a.
"Canned" presentations.
b.
Recordings of meetings and conferences.
c.
Quick supplement to present NPIC briefings
d.
showing information live or pre-canned
support briefing presentations.

6. Considering the rapid growth of the Center coupled with the
growing need for some form of improvement to communications, it would
appear that a system of this type would be quite beneficial to all con-
cerned at NPIC.
