SUBJECT: US Reconnaissance Activity over Cuba
1. Today's Schedule (21 February)
a. Missions: BRASS KNOB 3435, off at 0520 EST;
BRASS KNOB 3436, off at 0533 EST;
BRASS KNOB 3438 scheduled off at
1104 EST;
BRASS KNOB 3439 scheduled off at
1244 EST.
b. Purpose : 3435 will cover targets in eastern
Cuba;
3436 will cover targets in western
Cuba;
3438 will cover Havana area;
3439 will cover Havana area.
c. Weather : Light to moderate cloud cover over
the western half of the island and
moderate to heavy cloud cover over
the eastern portion. Outlook for
tomorrow lightto moderate increas-
ing to heavy cloud cover after 1300
EST over the entire island.
d. IPIR due: 23 February 1963
2. Yesterday's Activity (20 February)
a. Missions: BRASS KNOB 3434 over central and eastern
flown : Cuba. Pilot estimates 20% coverage of
scheduled targets.
BRASS KNOB 3437 over western Cuba. Pilot
estimates 60% coverWri?a-scheduled
targets.
b. IPIR due: 22 February 1963
C. Reaction: No significant air defense reaction to
these BRASS KNOB missions was noted.
