The technical monitor telephoned =on 27 August to check on the progress of the project since the last monitor visit of 9 August 1968. 2. and a sales type from visited 0 on the 15th of August to negotiate the correlation subsystem for the comparator. All the technical details were ironed out between made a bid of to do this work but did not have the cost reakdown to back up the standard DD-633 financial statement. I tated it would take some time to prepare the cost breakdown. To prevent further delay in the contract, both sides agreed to have the next negotiation meeting at =on 4 September 1968. 3. IIstated that a representative of visited) past week to discuss the work has been doing in correlation. said that it sounded very interesting so he and visited the plant near had very little to show in har ware and breadboards other than the i le cor- relation system (pass point locator) they exhibited at the Photogram- metry Show in Washington this past Spring. 0 said they had some excellent ideas but it still would take an awful lot of money to make them bear fruit. 0 would only consider shifting to refused to produce the correlation package or if the Government re- fused to approve of 0 IIdid suggest that NPIC might keep in mind for future work. The Jtechnical monitor informed that the Technical I?erfarmancead expressed interest in the aser interferometer used in the feasibility and design phase of the project. This laser- interferometer will also be used as an experimental model during the 25X1 fabrication stage. feels that after many modifications and much use, the laser interferometer ill not be of much use to the Technical Performance Division at th end of the project.
