MONTHLY TECHNICAL PROGRESS REPORT #11 - ATTACHMENT #1
Progress for this Period
1. All parts except for final control box covers have been received.
2. Auxiliary electronics box was assembled, wired, and checked out.
3. Background lighting system was tested and operated satisfactorily. A 40-volt
dropping transformer has been added due to the different operating characteristics
of the shorter background lamps.
4. Right Hand Bay HILS System was assembled and tested. The Left Bay HILS System
is approximately 80% assembled.
5. A rough draft of the ATP was prepared.
6. An outline for the operational manual was prepared.
7. HILS lamp light test was conducted to determine the aging characteristics on the
straight lamps being utilized on the H I LS system. Data was taken over a 50 - 100
150 and 200 mi I I iamp range. Average fal I off due to aging for 264 hours was .
significantly less than that experienced with the standard MLT curved lamps.
8. A customer representative visitedI Ion 20 March 1972, and was given a
demonstration of the partially completed HILS assembly and a briefing document
with photographs.
Objectives for next period
1. Complete assembly of the Left Hand Bay HILS System.
2. System alignment and test.
3.Completion of draft of operational manual.
4. Finalize ATP.
5. Final design review with customer representative.
