Request for Resolution Targets

2. Specifically, the set of targets should be produced on 70mm roll
film and. should consist of five or six Air Force Resolution Target repro-
ductions, centered at 12 inch intervals along the film strip. Approximately
six feet of unexposed film should. be furnished at each end of this strip
to be used as leader and trailer for threading int the viewer. Each target
should be of a different level of contrast (C ), the minimum represent-
ing a just-detectable-at-low-frequency-level (C + 0.02 to 0.04) and the
maximum about five to one (C = 4). The intervening contrast levels should
appear at about equal intervals, 5..e., at about equal log C steps. The
maximum target resolution required for the high contrast target is 160
lines/mm. The remaining lower target resolutions should be as good as can
be achieved with reasonable care.
3. In order to meet the planned test schedule, it is requested that
this material be delivered to the contract technical monitor,
(Rm. 55453), no later than 25 April 1969.
