Survey
The following background information, verbally checked by
ICA, is forwarded.
A. The aerial photography flown of the central portions
with FOA support was accomplithed in the winter and
spring of 1952-1953 by Worldwide Surveys.
B. The original letter of interest was dated in
October 1952 and the original contract for the photography
ran its full course.
C. All FOA supported rojects, some 30 or 40 in
number, were suspended in 1951 at the request of
D. Under the terms of the orighima contract the photo-
graphy was to remain under Attempts to
obtain copies for the U.S. Government, while the contract
was in force and later, were unsuccessful.
R. An aerial magnetometer survey was accomplished in
1954 by Worldwide Surveys as a result of an independent
contract with
