1. In an endeavor to increase our photographic cover-
age of specific Soviet targets we have assembled and
pouched to a package of
25X1
material on photography and photographic requirements. In-
cluded in this package is GP/I 198, Techniques for Pro-
ducing Good Ground Photography for Intelligence Purposes,
dated 18 July 1956.
2. Many of the intelligence services with which we
have productive liaison have capabilities for adding to
our coverage of the USSR provided we can furnish them
technical guidance and requirements. We are now attempt-
ing to obtain permission to release the classified sections
of the above-mentioned package, and request that permission
be granted for releasing GP/I 198 to those liaison services
that have been approved for the receipt of classified in-
formation from the Agency.
3. In accordance with it has
been determined that the release or this information to
friendly liaison services will result in a net advantage
to the United States.
