to Contract (Automated Stereo
Scanner) for Engineering Consultation

1. This memorandum requests approval for the commit-
ment of R&D funds for a Change-in-Scope to Contract
Paragraph 5.

2. By Amendment #19 the government changed the scope
of work u d r Contract adding Phase III which 25X1
covers engineering consultation services, at a total
cost of These services encompass 320 man-hours of
assistance on an Engineering Audit of the Automated
Stereo Scanner being conducted by 25X1
The first task consisted of an engineering review at I 25X1
during the period 1-4 June 1970. Following this, the
Automated Stereo Scanner will be partially disassembled
and shipped to The second task under Amendment
#19 is for engineering services, to assist in the 25X1
reassembly of the equipment ati 25X1
3. It was estimated initially that one man-week at
by an unspecified 0 engineer and one technician,
was required. As a result of the initial consultation
and subsequent analysis, it was determined by the govern-
ment Project Officer and the two contractors involved,
that two specific Otechnicians, 5X1
will be required at 0 or two weeks each, along 5X
with one week's services of 25X1
Program Manager. It is estimated that these services will
be required for the period 2-15 August 1970. The addi-
tional technician man-hours, travel and per diem costs,
along with the higher salary resulting from the substitu-
tion ofl _J require additional funds over those
