1. The IIS Training Program was conducted in two identical phases,
Supervisory Level training from 25 May through 30 June 1970 and Working
Level training from 29 June through2 September 1970. There was a total
of 72 hours of classroom instruction given during the Supervisory Level
training and 160 hours during the more heavily subscribed Working Level
training. In addition to classroom training, six of the nine courses
taught included tutorial hands-on machine practice following the class-
room sessions.

follows :
a. IDF/l hr./23 classes/304 students.
b. Query Introduction/i hr./23 classes/297 students.
c. Simplified Query/1 hr./14 classes/188 students.
d. Forms/2 hrs./15 classes/248 students.
e. D /2 hrs./4 classes/52 students.
f, VEA/4 hrs./10 classes/94 students.
g. PIRL/4 hrs./10 classes/108 students.
h. BQL/6 hrs./7 classes/78 students.
i. OUD/4 hrs./5 classes/47 students.
3. Attachment A is a listing of IIS Training course objectives
and hours of each course.
4. Attachment B is a detailed statistical breakdown of class
attendance by component and by phase, Supervisory or Working Level.
Also included are totals by phase trained in each subject.

5. Attachment C is a list of students by components who completed
training in the various subjects. In those subjects that included
machine practice a letter "P" after the student's name denotes those
who attended practice and demonstrated a machine understanding of the
subject. Those names without the letter "P" completed the classroom
instruction but did not attend machine practice.

To becwie familiar with the structure and contents of the IDP. (1 hr.)
QUERY INTRODUCTION
To compare IIS query languages and the considerations governing their
use. (1 hr.)
SIMPLIFIED QUERY
To formulate and transmit to the computer simple, one-statement queries
against the IDF. (1. hr.)
To cmiplete and/or utilize the ITS worksheets during the processing of
a given mission. (2 hrs.)
DATA EN RY (DEN)
To enter in the Working File target readouts recorded on ITS worksheets.
(2 hrs.)
VERIFY, EDIT, AND APPROVAL (VI's)
To verify, edit, and approve target readouts before they are entered in
the IDF. (4 hrs.)
PHOTO INTERPRETATION RETRIEVAL LANGUAGE (PIRL)
To formulate and transmit to the computer a limited range of detailed
queries (to the IDF) consisting of more than one statement. (4 hrs.)
BATCH QUERY LANGUAGE (BQL)
To formulate and transmit to the computer a wide range of detailed
queries (to the IDF) consisting of several statements. (6 hrs.)
