sisting of a realignment of the personnel and responsibilities

On 1 April 1970, the Cartography Division, OBGI, reorganized
its compilation research effort. Its four regional branches
were consolidated into one branch, the Cartographic Research
Branch, headed byl with as Deputy

The former separate detailed NIS sections on sociological
aspects of a given society have been replaced by a consolidated
section entitled "Social Characteristics". This new section
treats population patterns, ethnic groups, education, social
and religious organization, living conditions, labor, and
social welfare arrangements in an integrated overall analysis.
The first of these sections has been published on Colombia.
