--SUBJECT : Support of NPIC's Request for Additional
Photo Science Personnel
1. The Office of Special Projects/DD/S&T has become aware of
;NPIC/TSSG's re equest for additional photo science personnel in
-support of thelrogram, and we wish to fully support that request.
2. We have been most pleased by the support NPIC's breakdown team
has provided at the processing sites. This response to our need for
`,rapid photo quality evaluation and photo system performance data has
been most timely and useful. It is full anticipated that this same
type of support will be provided by NPIC I
3. OSP f idly realizes that the advent I Iwill signifi-
cantly increase the workload of the breakdown team and that additional
-people will be required to staff the workload generated by the expanded
volume of film footage involved. Further, however, there are additional
-reasons for increasing the TSSG photo science staff. We are planning on
-conducting a'Post-Flight Engineering Performance Analysis at Bridgehead
program in the
`instead of at NPIC, as has been the case with the
=:~
-past. In this activity we will require support from SG personnel, at
the processing site, that normally would have been needed only at NPIC.
In addition, we anticipate that, as with any new program, many studies
by TSSG, in support of our evaluation of camera performance, will be
required. The extent of these studies shall be considerably above those
currently required in support oq I
4. Considering all aspects of the support that will be required by
NPIC/TSSG/APSD to thcllactivities, we fully support the request for
additional personnel. r
