For nearly two years the Photogrammetry Division has conducted
a weekly "Show and Tell" for its personnel. A wide range of subjects
have been included, such as: explanation of a new mensuration tech-
nique, report of an on-site trip, tape recording of Cuban crisis,
briefing by OSI division chief on their use of our measurements,
unique mensuration projects, and how the IP career system works.
Some of the briefings are given by PHD personnel and some by in-
vited guests.
The purpose of the "Show and Tell" is to share information.
By keeping all personnel informed of matters pertaining to their
work they can do a better job, understand why things are done a
certain way and their enthusiasm is stimulated.
I wonder if you might find time in your busy schedule to ad-
dress our photogrammetrists at one of the "Show and Tells"? A
suggested topic is the development of NPIC, from a concept 20 years
ago, to an Agency PI division, to the formal charting of a national
center in 1961 with emphasis on the role of the photogrammetrist.
We prefer to conduct it in our work area on an informal basis.
Half of our photogrammetrists have been with NPIC less than three
years. Many do not know you or the story of NPIC. I am sure your
talk would receive top rating among our varied "Show and Tell"
programs. The time can be arranged at your convenience.
