SUBJECT: Publications Division Report for December 1961
1. Thirty publications were disseminated by NPIC in December 1961, in-
cluding 6 reports, 10 briefs1,2 interagetcy memorandums., 2 mission coverage
indexes, one mission coverage plot, 2 OAK supplements, one situation summary,
and one situation summary supplement. Two erratum sheets were also issued.
Ode of the 30 publications was a CIA report; the others were NPIC pdblicatiOns!
The publications contained a total of 405 pages, which is 137 percent Of the
previous month's prOduction (296 pages) and 140 percent of the December 1960
output (289 pages).
2. Limited support was given in the preparation of three NPIC listings
and two ORR reports. Statistics for these publications are not included in
the December totals.
3. The 30 publications issued in December contained 15 annotated photos,
21 maps, 72 line drawings, and 53 perspectives. In addition, the division
produced 24 briefing boards, 13 line drawings, two mosaics, and miscellaneous
Headliner jobs for NPIC and H Street.
4. Publication of photographic interpretation briefs and interagency
memorandums was discontinued as of 31 December. The type of information previously
contained in these publications will be included in photographic interpretation
reports in the future.

8. Fairly extensive alterations were accomplished in the division area
during the month in an attempt to adcommodate our increased Tb. Most of this
Work it completed; some electrical work remains.
9. A graphic representation of division production is appended to this
report.
