Dear Bill:
I am indeed sorry that I had to cancel out on the Directors
meeting at the last minute. My secretary may have told
you that the demand upon me that built up during my meeting
in Philadelphia the last three days of last week precluded
getting away for the Thursday evening meeting as I hoped
I would be able to do. As it turned out, Philadelphia was
enveloped in a complete fog that afternoon and evening and
the airport was shut down. Thus, even if my meeting sched-
ule had relaxed, I would still have been unable to make it to
Washington in time for the meeting.
We should indeed get together soon to discuss this proposed
SHE merger. As you can see from the letter which I wrote
to I am tentutively planning a trip to the West

ing the eteps to be ta.i.en on the proposed merger e.hile llurrieane

and members ol the attended the International society meeting
in Portugal. That meeting not only used up most of the month of
September and early uctober, but leit the n n with piles of urgent
business to be accomplished upon their retLirn before. they could
get around to the subject e.hicb interests we so deeply.
Attached hereto is a copy of the Certificate of incorporation Con-
stitution and fey- Laws of the 1SP. Attached also is a. list of the
ASP local regions and the current i,SP financis,1 statement.

and - Laws in direct comparison with those 0.1 ASP in order to
learn ia.)v., close or how divergent they might be. I suggeat that
you aek your associates in to forward their comments to

Coast during the month of January. at which time we can get
together for a deeper consideration of this matter.
