AMERICAN SOCIETY OF PHOTOGRAMMETRY
44 LEESBURG PIKE
FALLS CHURCH, V-A:
September 10, 1964
To: Members of the ASP PI Awards Committee
Several deadlines for award selection are getting closer. The
first of these is:
Member
INTERNATIONAL
SOCIETY
of
PHOTOGRAMMETRY
December 1, 1964 - Date of first ballot on Autometric Award.
This is when we narrow the field to three
finalists. (Must be done by December 15.)
With reference to the Autometric Award, we should all remember our
obligation to check all of the journals and bulletins of the "national
engineering or scientific societies". So far, your replies indicate that
the following journals have been checked:
Photogrammetric Engineering
Photographic Science and Engineering
Journal of Forestry
I am sure that other journals have also been checked but no one has
specifically told me so. Therefore, please let me know which journals
you have checked so that I can relay this information to the other
committee members. Also, if you know of journals that should be checked
but are unavailable to you, let me know. Somebody else probably has
access to that publication. Remember, too, that the Autometric Award
will go to the author of an article that was published in calendar year
1963.
Nominees for either the Autometric Award or the FMA Award can be
sent to me at any time. I will in turn pass the list of nominees on to
the rest of the committee.
If anyone cares to do so, there is no reason why you should not
contact friends and associates with requests for nominations for either
award.
