It is Drowsed that a new classified contract be negotiated
with to cover the portion of the 50X1
work that will be performed jointly by staff members of NPTC, 50X1

interpreter target identi cation performance and such factors as
ground resolution, image modulation and granularity, atmospheric
haste, and viewing conditions. The results of the work should aid
EPIC, and other interested groups, in making practical decisions
regarding which systems to use and which viewing devices and view-
trig techniques to employ.

3. It is anticipated that this work will ultimately require approx-
imately 18 months for completionj however, this contract will cover only
the period from March to 30 June 1964. It is prooced. that this con-
tract be approved for an estimated expenditure of The con- 50X1
tract will contain a clause providing the Government with an Option to
renew the contract for a further period under the same terms and con-
ditions during Fiscal Year 1965.
