cancel the scheduled. meeting because the Director was called out of.
town. I told McConnell that the Director wanted. to discuss with. the
Chairman the situation with the Congressional Budget: Office anal: t:he
Senate Budget Committee.

Stratton (D. , N. Y.) called and said he would lilce to get some idea
of the sensitivity of the lealcs of the Pike Report. I told ]VIr, Stratton
that we would get someone familiar with the items in the repay. t: up
~tamorrow to talk with him about it. I also mentioned that Mr. Bush,
during his appearance on the "Meet the Press" pragran~, an ?.? ?~'ebruary,.
had addressed himself to this subject and. offered to provide Mr. Stratton
with a copy of the transcript of that program.

Mahon, I-Iouse Appropriations Committee, to try to arrange ter: meeting

Government Operations Committee staff, called and we discussed
the disposition of a sensitive Agency project.
8~ LIAISON Spoke v~ith Morello Hansen,
Senate Foreign Relations Committee staff, concerning the Committee's
request for the March 1958 transcript of Herbert Scoville, former ADSI,
and asked her who had requested the transcript. She said it was
Professor Robert A. Divine, Department of History, University of
Texas.
9.. LIAISON Called Johri _Goldsmith, Senate
Armed Services Committee staff, and told him that Richard Moose,
Senate Foreign Relations Committee staff, had all the necessary
clearances for Goldsmith to talk to Moose about his recent t rip to the
Far East. It was agreed that Goldsmith would not discuss Agency
matters.

investigation. I told Hogan that Mr. Madigan, Senator X-Iowar:d :Batter's
(R. , Tenn) staff man, on the Senate Select Cam.mi.ttee, had: requested the
file far review.
I also informed Hogan that the Agency will hold a seaninar on
