STAT 11. I LIAISON Met with Ed Schallert,
on the staff of Representative Les Aspin (D. , Wis. ), and provided him
with a copy of the classified Agency paper entitled "Dollar Costs of
Selected Soviet Defense Programs. " Schallert signed a receipt for
the document and agreed, per arrangements with Mr. Miller, to
return the document to the Agency when he is finished with it.

Met with Mike Hastings, on the staff of Representative William S. Cohen
(R. , Maine), and provided him with copies of maps of Africa, per, his
request.
STAT 13. ADMINISTRATIVE - DELIVERIES
Met with Chris Lee, on the staff of Representative Ralph S. Regula
(R., Ohio). Lee is a new member of the staff and he was provided
with a number of Agency publications dealing with foreign. affairs,
an area in which the Congressman has a strong interest.
STAT 14. ADMINISTRATIVE - DELIVERIES
Delivered a map of the world to Jere Van Dyk, on. the staff of Senator
Henry M. Jackson (D., Wash. ), per his request.

Guy McConnell, on the staff of the S hate Appropriations Cox rnitt.ee,
and in his absence left an Agency memo on Chile and a copy o
Mr. Cary's memo on the 16 December briefings of the full Committee
and the Intelligence Operations Subcommittee for his review. I later
confirmed with Jane McMullan, on the staff of the Committee, that
she had both of these documents.
On another matter, she said that our people had completed
the change of the safe combinations in their office except for one
unnumbered safe. I advised her that we were looking into finding
a combination for this safe and I would be back in touch with her.

Delivered to the Senate Aeronautical and Space Sciences Committee, for
Charles Lombard, on the staff of the Committee, extracts from Premier
Castro's ten-hour speech to the Party Congress relating, to his comments
on findings in the Senate Select Cornmit:ee's assassination report.
