OFFICE OF LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL
Thursday - 23 December 1976
LIAISON In the absence of Mike
that day and, therefore, might have to hold the former
"interview another day. Liebengood said he would let me know on
27 December.
Liebengood looked at the Committee schedule and said they were interviewing
Madigan, Minority Counsel, Senate Select Committee on Intelligence,
spoke to Howard Liebengood, Minorit Staff Director of the Committee,
and informed him that former Chie would be
available to talk to Madigan on the afternoon of 30 December 1976.
2. LIAISON Mrs. Audrey Hatry, Senate
Select Committee on Intelligence staff, called to request an additional
two copies of the Indian Ocean Atlas that was provided for Chairman
Daniel Inouye (D., Hawaii). Mrs. Hatry said the copy provided for the
Chairman was being sent to his personal office and they needed two copies
for the Committee office. I told her I would provide them.
3, LEGISLATION Contacted Jim Davidson,
on the staff of the Sener Pt Qprations Subcommittee on
Intergovernmental Relations, and arranged to meet with him on 11 January 1977
to discuss zero-base budget review. Senator Edmund Muskie (D., Maine),
who introduced a major zero-base budget review bill in the 94th Congress,
apparently is planning to reintroduce the legislation next month shortly after
the 95th Congress convenes. 25X1
4. LEGISLATION Spoke with Robert Kuttner,
on the staff of the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs,
to check on the prospects for new legislation on corporate bribery and
inaccurate reports by international corporations to the SEC. Mr. Kuttner said
he anticipates legislation similar to that which we worked on last fall to be
introduced early in the 95th Congress. I arranged to meet with Mr. 'Kuttner
on 12 January 1977 to discuss this matter.
