24, LIAISON I spoke with. William
Rossiter, on the staff of the Senate Appropriations Committee,
regarding the Burton amendment. He said that the Administration
position had been raised at the Committee hearing and that Senator
Daniel K. Inouye (D., Hawaii) had taken the position that the
amendment was a good amendment. Nobody opposed him and the
bill submitted to the full Senate will contain the amendment forwarded
from the House.
