Saigon announced on February 9 that a sharp clash has broken out 14 miles southwest of Pl:tiku City, only, a few miles from a site where the government is scheduled to return some prisoners to the Communists next week. Assording to the government announcement, Communist troops shelled a government posi- tion and them mounted an infantry attack. Government troops supported by armor reportedly killed 54 Communists. Fighting remains light elsewhere. Approved For R ease 2004/11/30: CIA-RDP78S019
