INS1ALIATION: Hsi-ni ng Army Barracks AL 1, Lan-chou MR, China
Hsi-ning Army Barracks AL 1 is 5.0 nautical miles (nm)
southeast of the center of Hsi-ning on the north side
of Hs'--ling Airfield
The installation is -oart of the area connected with Hsi-
ning Airfield. It comprises about half of the area, the
rest being used by the air force.
The exact boundaries of the army installation are im-
possible to determine. Track activity throughout the
area Jindicates the possibility of common activities,
probably maintenance.
The phy:,ical layout of the army portion suggests the
presence of a division headquarters with its support
element:-,., and one regiment of three infantry battalions
and an attached organic artillery unit.
