BASIC DESCRIPTION
This report provides an analysis of the Salekhard Tropospheric Station
(Salekhard Troposcatter Facility), one of 43 photographically identified tropo-
scatter facilities that comprise the Soviet troposcatter communications network.
The facility is 7.5 nautical miles east-northeast of Salekhard, USSR, on flat
terrain at an elevation of approximately 170 feet.
The unsecured facility contains two pair (four antennas) of Type II tropo-
scatter antennas, one pair of Type IIA troposcatter antennas, one transmitter/
control building, and five support buildings.
Power for the facility is internally supplied. by Building B, Figure 1.
Eight horizontal fuel tanks feed. into the west end. of this building, and the
building has four ventilators on its roof. Two conduits provide utility power
for the transmitter/control building and. the support buildings.
