1. This memorandum is in response to the referenced requirement which
asks for an analysis of arsenals at Canton, including current production
activity and expansion since 1960.
2. Analysis of photographic coverage of Canton reveals no arsenals. The
Shih-ching Arsenal (also called Kuang-chou Arsenal, Chih-ching,
a
25X1 0 located on US Air Target Chart-Series 200-0614-1A, 1st Editon, April
13-59F,-could not be confirmed. Analysis of photo coverage of the area outlined
on this chart shows that it contains a brick plant, residential areas, a few
warehouses and some small shops, none of which contain adequate facilities
to produce the weapons which are reported to be produced by this plant.
3. The photo analysts assigned to this project were Messrs.(

further questions regarding this project. This memorandum completes the
referenced requirement.
