SUBJECT: An SA-2 SAM Search Within & 30-Mile Radius of Nine Cities in
Northern Poland
1. This memorandum is in response to your requirement dated 9 September 1963
requesting a search be made for SA-2 SAM sites within a 30 mile radius of the
following cities: Biedrusko, Slupsk, Dopiewo, Misdroy, Gardeje, Stettin, Stargard,
Kolberg, Griefenberg; all located in Northers Poland.
25X1 2. AllIbhotography that passed over or near these areas was searched
for possible SA-2 SAM sites. It was found that all missions over this area of
Poland were between 85 and 100 percent cloud covered. No search area-was found to
be 100 percent cloud free. The quality of the photography was fair. The most
25X1 recent coverage of the area, was approximately 90 percent cloud
covered. No SAM sites were observed in the cloud free portions of the search area.
Due to the incomplete coverage of the search areas, a confirmation or negation of
SA-2 SAM sites cannot be made at this time.
