REQUIREMENT RR/HTA/E/R20/58: Locate and describe the Flurospar
Combine at Takob, Tadzhik SSR.
The Takob Fluorspar Combine is located in the narrow gorge of
the Takob Rivep:, approximately 20 miles north of Stalinabad, USSR. Small
scale, oblique photography and heavy :shadows preclude a detailed photo-
graphic analysis, but the functions and sizes of the major components of
this Combine are as follows: probable ore flotation building, 110 by 70
feet; primary crushing building, 100 by 85 feet; secondary crushing,
screening and fine grinding building, approximately 300 by 50 feet; an
L-shaped, single story, storage-type building, 240 by 50 feet and 160 by
55 feet; five single-story storage-type buildings varying in size from 100
by 35 feet to 175 by 45 feet; and nine or ten smaller buildings and sheds.
An all-weather road leads from Takob via Pugas to Stalinabad.
The referenced map shows a narrow gauge railroad paralleling the
highway between Stalinabad-andPug.-s, but there is no evidence of its
existence on the photography.
