Target Complex Mosaic, Series 25, No 0234-9999-25MA., 3rd ed, Aug 1952. (S) Four previously unreported possible uranium mills are located on the south bank of the Dnepr River at Dneprodzerzhinsk, just north of the Dnepro- dzerzhinsk Nitrogen Combine. This is the largest number of uranium mills reported at any single locality in the Soviet Union. The complex of four mills occupies a double-fenced, rail-served, roughly rectangular area 1, 370 by 5, 140 feet. Each mill consists of an ore storage building, a crushing building, a grinding building, and a long chemical precipitation building with steam escaping from many roof vents. Sixteen liquid reagent tanks occupy a prominent position beside one of the ore preparation buildings. No thickeners are visible by any of the mill buildings. Some mill tailings have been dis- charged into a corner of the fenced enclosure. Three of the mills also dis- charge tailings through large-diameter pipes to a valve house. Thence the fines are conveyed 3, 150 feet by a large diameter pipe into a divided trape- zoidal-shaped tailings pond averaging 3, 380 by 6, 120 feet near the Dnepr River. A possible ore bedding yard and a construction products plant adjoin. the uranium mill complex on the east. A. previously unreported rail-served, double fenced ore dump is located south of Taramskoye at 48025'N/34046'E, along a rail spur which runs into the uranium mill compleq. This rail spur joins the main-line railroad running eastward to Dnepropetrovsk from the uranium mining districts of Pyatikhatki- Zheltaya Reka.
