RAIL TRAFFIC AND MINOR FACILITIES ON THE
VLADIVOSTOK/LESOZAVODSK SECTION
OF THE TRANS-SIBERIAN RAILROAD
This report provides a photographic analysis of rail traffic and
describers minor facilities on most of the 356-kilometer section of
the Trans-Siberian Railroad between Vladivostok and Lesozavodsk. Major
facilities on this section will be covered in separate re orts. This
analysis as based on photography flown on
The ~~~Woto coverage extends from the southern outskirts
of Lesozavodsk southward to Monastyrishche, a distance of 180 kilometers.
The photo coverage extends from Zenkovka, 83
kilometers south of Lesozavodsk, to Vladivostok, a distance of 280 kilo-
meters , except that there is no photo coverage for approximately 43 kilo-
meteA s between Voroshilov and the tunnel. northwest of Nadezhdiriskaya.
Small. scale photography, snow cover, and occasional lack of stereo
cover preclude detailed analysis of some trains, but in so far as possible
the location, length, speed, and direction of trains, -as well as the number
and type of cars is indicated in the accompanying-tables I through 4. Minor
facilities are described in Table 5. Station names used in this report
are taken from AMS series 250 maps. Where a different name is used
in CIA/CR#5, USSR Railroad Stations Handbook, it is shown in parentheses
in Tables 1 through 5.
