Requirement DP-HTA-R5-57 requested a photographic study of the area
between Siauliai and Kaunas, Lithuania to determine location of large
industrial or military installations, major changes in vegetation, forest
cover, cultivated land areas, stiramps, roads, railroads or other significant
features.
Twenty maps (scale 1:50,000) covering approximately 2200 square miles,
were carefully evaluated on the basis of Overlays 25X1 D
of each map were prepared to show all significant changes.
Following a study of the individual overlays in cooperation,?and con-
sultation with the requester, the major significant changes were annotated
directly onto a 1:250,000 map formed by joining AMS Map Series M508,
Sheets S55 and 556, and AMS Map Series N501, N0-31-12. A sketch map of
Liepaja at 1:35,000 scale, based on and a sketch 25X1D
map of western Lithuania at 1:1,000,000 scale, based on World Aeronautical
Charts, were prepared, as requested, for general orientation and briefing
purposes.
In addition, the requester, working in the Talent Center with the
P.I. analyst prepared a written detailed description of the selected
area.
