This report is one in a series on Soviet Ground Force and Logistic
installations being prepared for a DIA/CIA Panel. The series is being
coordinated, published and disseminated by NPIC. The photographic
analysis is being performed by the NPIC: Photographic Analysis Group,
the CIA Photographic Intelligence Division (NPIC), and the Production
Center 1P Ia (DIA). The photographic analysis for this particular re-
port was performed by the NPIC Photographic Analysis Group.
In the interest of uniformity, the titles and letter designators for
the facilities observed at these installations are identical with those
appearing in the project requirement. When a specific facility is not
observed both its title and letter designator are omitted in the report.
I itles and letter designators for the various facilities are as
follows: (A) railroad service, (B) road service, (C) landing strips,
(D) administrative and troop housing areas, (L) storage areas, (F) am-
munition storage areas, (G) 1101, storage areas, (11) other buildings and
facilities, (J) equipment storage/maintenance areas, (K) athletic fields,

Vypolzov Maneuver Area Kiyev North-
Northeast is located 63 kilometers (km) north-
east of Kiyev and 39 km south-southwest of
Chernigov Training Area Kiyev North-North-
east between the Dnepr River and the Densa
River (Figure 1). Administration, billeting,
and other support for the maneuver area is
provided by Vypolzov Army Barracks which is
located on the southern boundary of the maneuver
area.
The maneuver area covers approximately
52,000 acres and contains a possible tent camp,
5 tank/assault-gun ranges and a probable tank/
assault-gun range under construction, 5 driver-
training areas, an infantry field training area,
a range probably for vehicle-mounted automatic
weapons, an area for artillery training, a secured
storage area, 2 unidentified areas, and 2 prob-
sions from

parative analysis reveals a light to medium
level of activity. No winter traini ig was ob-

The maneuver area is not directly rail
served; however, a rail-served storage instal-
lation 41 km to the north possibly supports
this area.
Road Service
A secondary probably all-weather road
connects this area with the Chernigov-Kiyev
highway.
Administrative and Troop Housing Areas
Area D is a possible tent camp activated
