This report is one in a series on Soviet Ground Force and Logistic
installations being prepared for a DIA/CIA Panel. The series is being
coordinated, published and disseminated by NPIC. The photographic
analysis is being performed by the NPIC Photographic Analysis Group,
the CIA Photographic Intelligence Division (NPIC), and the Production
Center 1Pla (DIA). The photographic analysis for this particular re-
port was performed by the NPIC Photographic Analysis Group.
In the interest of uniformity, the titles and letter designators for
the facilities observed at these installations are identical with those
appearing in the project requirement. When a specific facility is not
observed both its title and letter designator are omitted in the report.
Titles and. letter designators for the various facilities are as
follows: (A) railroad service, (B) road service, (C) landing strips,
(D) administrative and troop housing areas, (E) storage areas, (F) am-
munition storage areas, (G) POL storage areas, (1-I) other buildings and
facilities, (J) equipment storage/maintenance areas, (K) athletic fields,
(L) small arms firing ranges, (M) driver training areas, (N) tank/
assault gun firing ranges, (P) flat trajectory firing ranges, (Q) artillery
emplacements (batteries), (R) infantry or combined arms field train-
ing area. or courses, (S) special training facilities, (T) unidentified
facilities or tracking activity.

A barracks area is located in the south-
western section of Odessa. A possibly associ-
ated barracks area is located 0.6 kilometer
(km) northwest of this installation (Figure 1).
The installation covers approximately 38
acres and contains 1 administration building,
2 barracks, 2 officer/dependents quarters, 9
storage buildings, 10 support buildings, 1 ve-
hicle maintenance building, 3 vehicle sheds, and
a vehicle park (Figures 2 and 3).

Administration and Troop Housing Area
Area D contains 1 multistory administration
building, 2 multistory barracks, 2 officer/
dependents quarters, and 1 storage building.
General Storage Area
Area E contains 8 storage buildings and 9
support buildings.
POL Storage Areas
25X1 D POL storage facilities in the area include
Odessa Petroleum Storage Shcelakova at 46-31N
030-43E (BE No- with 55 medium
and 2 small storage tanks; Odessa Petroleum
Storage and Pier at 46-30N 030-43E (BE No
with 12 small storage tanks; and
Odessa Petroleum Storage Romanovka at 46- 30N
030-42E (BE No with 28 large, 4
medium, and 13 small storage tanks.
Equipment Storage/Maintenance Areas
Area J1 is a 400- by 250-foot vehicle park.
Two rows of probable vehicles are observed in
this area on coverage.
Area J2 contains one 300- by 55-foot
vehicle maintenance building, one 380- by 40-
foot vehicle shed, and 1 support building.
Area J3 contains two 290- by 60-foot
vehicle sheds. One row of probable vehicles
is observed between the 2 buildings on_
