NEWLY IDENTIFIED COMMUNICATIONS FACILITIES, CHITA AREA, USSR
A search within a 50-nautical-mile (nm)
radius of Chita (52-02N 113-29E) has revealed
5 previously unreported high-frequency (lih)
communications facilities, of which 3 are con-
sidered definite and 2 probable. Brief descrip-
tions of each of these facilities are presented
below. In addition, figure I locates the 5
facilities and, as requested, relates them to
the major known military installations, air-
fields, and transportation and electronic/com-
munications facilities in the Chita area as
observed on recent photography.
Location: 10 nm north of Chita
Coordinates: 52-11-50N 113-28-20E

of the facility is based on the similarity of
its layout to that of other known l1P communi-

or guy anchor positions are visible.
A support area consisting of 9 buildings
is situated immediately to the northeast of the
security fence and probably serves as ::uppo)rt
