This report is one in a series on Soviet Ground Force and Logistic
installations being prepared for a DIA/CIA Panel. The series is being
coordinated, published and disseminated by NPIC. The photographic
analysis is being performed by the NPIC Photographic Analysis Group,
the CIA Photographic Intelligence Division (NPIC), and the Production
Center iPla (DIA). The photographic analysis for this particular re-
port was performed by the CIA Photographic Intelligence Division
In the interest of uniformity, the titles and letter designators for
the facilities observed at these installations are identical with those
appearing in the project requirement. When a specific facility is not
observed both its title and letter designator are omitted in the report.
Titles and letter designators for the various facilities are as
follows: (A) railroad service, (B) road service, (C) landing strips,
(D) administrative and troop housing areas, (E) storage areas, (F) am-
munition storage areas, (G) POL storage areas, (H) other buildings and
facilities, (J) equipment storage /maintenance areas, (K) athletic fields,
(L) small arms firing ranges, (M) driver training areas, (N) tank/
assault gun firing ranges, (P) flat trajectory firing ranges, (Q) artillery
emplacements (batteries), (R) infantry or combined arms field train-

Two military installations Razdolnoye Ar-
my Barracks and Razdol-
no e Arm Barracks Alekseyevka East
are located immediately sou
az o noye at 43-30N 131-54E and in the
south-central section of Alekseyevka at 43-
33N 131-56E, respectively (Figure 1). A
probable training area for the barracks areas
is located 1.5 kilometers (km) east of Raz-
dolnoye Army Barracks.
Razdolnoye Army Barracks covers approx-
imately 745 acres and contains a total of 163
buildings, including 4 administration, 4 admin-
istration/barracks, 1 administration/support,
13 barracks, 32 quarters-type housing units,
20 storage, 5 vehicle sheds, 5 possible vehicle
sheds, 1 vehicle maintenance, 2 probable ve-
hicle maintenance, and 76 support buildings, 5
motor pools, 2 driver-training circuits, 1 open
storage/athletic field, 1 athletic/parade field,
and 2 parade fields (Figures 2 and 3).
The training area 1.5 km east of this in-
stallation covers approximately 540 acres and
contains 3 field-gun batteries and a probable
infantry field training area.
Razdolnoye Army Barracks Alekseyevka
East covers approximately 40 acres and con-
tains a total of 17 buildings, including 1 ad-
ministration, 3 barracks, and 13 support build-
ings, and an open storage/motor pool area.
The military installations were covered by
ICEYIIOLE missions of interpretable quality

parative analysis indicates that there has been
no significant change in the number of build-
ings or their levels of occupancy

The 3-track Artem-Ussuriysk rail line
forms the west side of Razdolnoye Army Bar-
racks and is 0.5 km northwest of Razdolnoye
Army Barracks Alekseyevka East, but it can-
not be determined whether there is rail ser-
vice for these installations.
Both installations have access to urban
streets and the Artem-Ussuriysk primary road.
Administration and Troop Housing Areas
Area Dl contains 1 administration build-
ing, 3 barracks, 13 support buildings, and one
390- by 215-foot open storage/motor pool area.
Area D2 contains 3 administration build-
ings, 13 barracks, and 7 support buildings.
Area D3 contains 12 quarters-type housing
units and 1 support building.
Area D4 contains 1 administration build-
ing, 4 administration buildings/barracks, 20
quarters-type housing units, 6 storage build-
ings, and 21 support buildings.

Area E2 contains 1 administration/support
building, 9 storage buildings, and 2 support
buildings.
Ammunition Storage Area
A double-secured explosives storage depot
containing 9 buildings is 9 km southeast of
Razdolnoye Army Barracks.
POL Storage Area
A POL storage area, consisting of 7 under-
ground tanks and 6 vertical tanks, is located
in the eastern section of Alekseyevka.
Other Buildings
There are 36 support buildings at Raz-
dolnoye Army Barracks.
Equipment Storage/ Maintenance Areas
Area J1 contains one 360- by 55-foot ve-
hicle shed, two 195- by 40-foot probable ve-
hicle maintenance buildings, and 3 support
buildings.
Area J2 contains one 330- by 40-foot
vehicle shed, one 175- by 40-foot vehicle
maintenance building, and a 330- by 115-foot
motor pool.
Area J3 contains 5 possible vehicle sheds,
three 500 by 40 feet and two 400 by 40 feet,
and 3 support buildings.
Area J4 contains 3 vehicle sheds, 1 mea-
suring 290 by 55 feet, one 270 by 55 feet,
and one 190 by 45 feet; 4 motor pools, 1
measuring 580 by 155 feet, one 420 by 210
feet, one 380 by 250 feet, and one 380 by
1.55 feet; and 3 support buildings.
Athletic Fields
Area K1 is an open storage/athletic field,
areas K2 and K3 are parade fields, and Area
K4 is an athletic/parade field.
