Kipelovo Airfield is located 3 nm south of Kipelovo and
37.5 nm ENE of Cherepovets.
The airfield has an 11,500 by 230 ft N/S concrete runway
with a 1,730-ft graded earth overrun at the south end and a
1,990-ft graded earth probable overrun at the, north end.
Facilities include a concrete parallel taxiway/parking
apron (northernmost portion is under construction and contains
numerous pieces of unidentified equipment/material), 1
end-connecting link, 1 crossover link, 1 probable crossover
link under construction, a POL storage area adjacent to the
airfield, and an earth-mounded POL storage area 2.7 nm NNE of
the airfield. An ILS System is located off both ends of the runway.
Support facilities include 2 administration-type
buildings, 11 barracks-type buildings, 1 storage-type
building, at least 7 support buildings, and a probable
construction/housing area with at least 45 buildings and
a vehicle maintenance area.
Two BEAR aircraft are observed.
