The series is being coordinated, published and disseminated by NPIC. The photographic analysis is being performed by the NPIC Photographic Analysis Group, the CIA Photographic Intelligence Division (NPIC), and the Production Center 1Pla (DIA). The photographic analysis for this particular re- port was performed by the CIA Photographic Intelligence Division., In the interest of uniformity, the titles and letter designators for the facilities observed at these installations are identical with those appearing in the project requirement. When a specific facility is not observed both its title and letter designator are omitted in the report. (Figure 1). The installation and its related training area cover approximately 8,850 acres and contain an administration building, 7 barracks, 12 stor- age buildings, 2 probable vehicle sheds, 2 range control buildings, 25 support buildings, a tank/ assault-gun firing range, a possible tank/as- sault-gun firing range, a possible vehicle- mounted automatic weapons firing range, a poss- ible field gun battery and a possible combined arms field training course (Figure 2). The area was covered by KEYHOLE missions from -Comparative analysis indicates that the barracks area was constructed prior to_ The training area was not observed until -however haze and snow limited interpretation on previous coverage. The over- all level of activity in the training area was medium on the coverage and light on the overage. Secondary, probably all-weather roads con- nect this installation with Aniva and Yuzhno - Sakhalinsk, and tank trails connect it to strain- ing area 20 km south. Administration and Troop Housing Area Area D contains an administration building, 7 barracks, 6 storage buildings, and 21 support buildings. General Storage Area Area E contains 6 storage buildings and 2 support buildings. Other Buildings Two range control buildings are located in Area N2. Equipment Storage/ Maintenance Area Area J contains two 170- by 40-foot prob- able vehicle sheds and 2 support buildings. Tank/Assault-Gun Firing Ranges Heavy track activity on the tank trail and possible stationary targets indicate area N1 is a possible tank/assault-gun firing range. Area N2 is a 3,110-foot tank/assault-gun firing range with a 2,300-foot lane and 3 prob- able moving target runs. It was constructed prior to and there is heavy track activity on both the _ coverage. Artillery Emplacements Area Q is a possible field gun emplacement with 4 firing positions. Infantry or Combined Arms FieldTraining Area or Courses A possible combined arms field training course is astride the tank trail that joins this training area to the training area 20 km south. It contsists of a possible static firing line, 4 possible moving target runs, and unidentified ground scars. This possible range is astride the tank trail that joins this training area to the training area 20 km south. The maximum firing distance is 3,900 feet.
