This report is one in a series on Soviet Ground Force and Logistic
installations being prepared for a DIA/CIA Panel. The series is being
coordinated, published and disseminated by NPIC. The photographic
analysis is being performed by the NPIC Photographic Analysis Group,
the CIA Photographic Intelligence Division (NPIC), and the Production
Center 1Pla (DIA). The photographic analysis for this particular re-
port was performed by the Production Center 1Pla.
In the interest of uniformity, the titles and letter designators for
the facilities observed at these installations are identical with those
appearing in the project requirement. When a specific facility is not
observed both its title and letter designator are omitted in the report.
Titles and letter designators for the various facilities are as
follows: (A) railroad service, (B) road service, (C) landing strips,
(D) administrative and troop housing areas, (F) storage areas, (F) am-
munition storage areas, (G) POL storage areas, (H) other buildings and
facilities, (J) equipment storage/maintenance areas, (K) athletic fields,
(L) small arms firing ranges, (M) driver training areas, (N) tank/
assault gun firing ranges, (P) flat trajectory firingranges, (Q) artillery
emplacements (batteries), (R) infantry or combined arms field train-
ing areas or courses, (S) special training facilities, (T) unidentified
facilities or tracking activity.

Pushkin Artillery School and Barracks is
located 2 kilometers (km) south of the center
of Pushkin, and adjoins the Pushkin Airfield
to the southwest (Figure 1).
The partially secured installation covers
a total of 335 acres and consists of 2 major
areas: an administrative and troop housing
area and a forested, probable ammunition
storage area located 800 meters to the southwest.
The housing area covers 282 acres and contains
64 barracks, 33 support buildings, 11 quarters,
23 warehouses, 3 maintenance/storage struc-
tures, 6 vehicle storage buildings, 2 motor
Railroad Service
A rail spur services
parks, 2 underground POL tanks, and 2 athletic
fields. J he storage area covers 53 acres and
contains 2 probable administration buildings,
2 possible security structures, and 9 possible
ammunition storage buildings (Figures 2 and 3).

negligible seasonal variation. No significant
changes in the installation were noted during

Administrative and Troop Housing Area
Area D contains 32 support structures,
Ii quarters, and 64 administration/barracks
buildings. The artillery school is probably
located within the walled area which is in
the southeast corner of the installation.
General Storage Areas
Area El contains 2 storage buildings..
Area E2 contains 14 storage buildings,.
Area E3 contains 8 storage buildings..
Ammunition Storage Area
Area F contains 2 probable administration
buildings, 9 possible ammunition storage build-
ings, and 2 possible security buildings. The
area is thought to be ammunition storage
because of location and security. It is heavily
wooded.
POL Storage Areas
Area G is fenced and contains 2 under-
ground tanks and 1 probable
security building. Other POL storage is located
in Pushkin.
Equipment Storae/Maintenance Areas
Area Jl contains one 265- by 110-foot
multistory maintenance/storage building, five
single-story vehicle storage buildings (four
ne 110 by 56 feet), 1 single-
story utility building, and 1 motor park covering
2.8 acres. There appeared to be 5 rows of
vehicles in the motor park in
Area J2 contains one 290- by 115-foot
multistory maintenance storage building, 1
motor park covering 12.8 acres, and 1 support
