Analysis has revealed, in addition to those areas previously mentioned in the PI Notes, 5 probable bivouac/storage areas on the east bank of the Srepok River approximately 1 nm east of Mereuch. These newly identified areas contain good examples of activity, earthen bunkers, and automatic weapons positions. In addition, widely dispersed dwellings were observed, interconnected by a maze of well- used trails and concealed under a light tree canopy. A recently completed comparative analysis indicates that this vessel is of a new class. When compared to the latest major class of Soviet warship, the KASHIN-Class DLG, this new ship appears to have a significantly longer LOA and a broader beam. The approximate major dimensions of this ship include a 530-foot length and a beam of roughly 55 to 65 feet - or approximately 60 feet longer and 5 to 15 feet broader than the KASHIN. accompanying photographic inset (Figure 1). A large-scale graphical/ photo analysis of this ship, compared to a probable KASHIN-Class DLG observed on this same KH-4 coverage, is shown in Figure 2.
