CHINA
Continued study of recent KEYHOLE photography has disclosed
identical earth-mounded structures at the Heng-Yang Uranium Ore
Concentration Plant (26-47N 112-38E) and the Pao-Tou Atomic
Energy Complex (40-39N 109-57E).
The exact function of the structures has not been determined,
although they may possibly be sumps for the collection of waste
liquids. The structures are within the security confines of both areas,
suggesting a possible association with radioactive materials. The
configurations of the earth-mounded structures are identical, and
each appears to contain two possible semiburied pumphouses. A
control building is superimposed on the earth mounding. The single
earth-mounded structure in the northwest corner of the Heng-Yang
Plant was under construction in and in the final 25X1 D
stages of construction in The two structures at the
Pao-Tou complex are situated directly north of the waste basins.
Excavation for the westernmost structure was first apparent in
and the middle stage of construction was reached by
