The Ha-erh-pin MF-11F Broadcast Facility (Figure l) is 8 nm east-south-
east of Ha-erh-pin, China. Within the main security fence are 5 antenna
areas and 2 separately secured areas which are designated A and B on Figure
:L .
Within antenna area 1 are 2 vertical MF radiators which are over a
radial ground plane. The more northerly radiator is driven and the other
acts as a reflector. Within antenna area 2 is a directional HF broadcast
array. Both antenna areas 3 and 4 contain horizontal dipole antennas.
Within antenna area 5 is an omnidirectional circular HF array which consists
of 5 stick masts in an outer circle, 1 mast at the center, and an undeter-
mined number of short posts which are positioned to form an inner circle.
A similar array has been described in a Soviet publication / as being a
cylindrical antifading array.
Within area A are the control building and 4 support buildings and
within area B are 4 barracks-type buildings.
No Thick-Eight HF/DF array has been identified on available photography
of the area of this broadcast facility.
