New Type Amphibious Armored Combat Vehicle Seen Deployed in the Western USSR
The AAICV M1967 amphibious armored infantry combat vehicle has been
identified for the first time on satellite photography at two ground forces
installations in the western USSR. Five AAICV were observed at Borisov
Training Area and Range West on photography. Three were on tank
firing lanes and two were parked adjacent to the tank ranges. Nine other
AAICV were tentatively identified within a vehicle storage area at Minsk
Army Barracks Uruchye AL-I oni photography. 25X1 D
The AAICV M1967, which was first displayed in the November 1967 Moscow
parade, combines the features of a light tank and an armored personnel
carrier (see Figure I). It is capable of carrying eight troops and is
armed with a 76mm gun, a 7.62mm machine gun, and a Sagger antitank guided
missile.

Analysis of the identifid aluminum plants in China on

Fu-shun, Lan-chou, Pao-tou, aid Tzu-po remain the only ones in operation.
These plants have a total f 4 potrooms, all of which were observed in
25X1 D operation during the Iperiod.
1-he plants at Ho-fei, Ju19-yang, Kuei-yang, and Lan-chi, which have
a total of 6 potrooms, remlin inactive. These plants have never been
observed in operation. IA') i, currently doing a s`udy of a probable light
metals plant under construo,fi)n at Chin-chi which iay possibly be for
aluminum production.
